Sumitomo Rubber Industries Japan established the Dunlop Tire Factory in Thailand in 2005 under the name of Sumitomo Rubber (Thailand) Ltd. or SRT. The plant is located in the Amata City Industrial Estate, Rayong, on an area of ​​346 rai Or approximately 585,000 square meters, with an investment budget up to June 2008 of Baht 12.2 billion. The first phase of the plant started production in November 2006 with a new production technology called "SUN SYSTEM". Phase-2 plant has started production. Production in October 2007 and at the end of 2008, the two-phase plants will have capacity to produce SUVs for SUVs and pickup trucks combined at 28,000 lines per day. Meeting the needs of the rubber market in the future, the plant plans to expand its production capacity to 73,000 lines per day in 2010.
